AI Transparency

Analytics Edge products do not have any embedded AI capabilities, however some products do provide integration capabilities with external AI services. In all cases, the user must be intentionally initiate any interaction and supply their own AI account credentials (in the form of an API key) at their own expense.

Analytics Edge Add-in for Excel

The Add-in for Excel downloads user data into an Excel worksheet. It has a AI Request function that can send selected data direct to an AI service with a user-generated prompt, and receive the response, all as part of an automated workflow (Analytics Edge ‘macro’).

The user can select one of the following AI services, but they must supply their own credentials (API key) and the request runs at the user’s own expense.

  • Anthropic’s Claude API
  • Google’s Gemini API
  • OpenAI API
  • Perplexity API

The product does not interact with the AI services in any other way, and none of the data flows pass through any Analytics Edge server.

Analytics Edge Search Warehouse

The Search Warehouse downloads user data into a local database for analysis. It contains an optional AI Assistant that can be used to build a report. The user-selected AI service is sent a partial database schema and is requested to return a SQL statement satisfying the user’s prompt request. At no point is user data sent to the AI service.
